Green coffee beans: the Green coffee beans are different from the black coffee you usually find at your roaster. You will learn on this site that it is rich in antioxidants, good for intestinal transit, and therefore for weight loss. A cup of organic green coffee every morning will have a fat-burning effect.
From these cherries will then be extracted the seeds, of a pale green color. In principle, at this stage, they will then be roasted, i.e. heated directly with a flame to over 230°C. In this way, through a process of caramelization, the coffee beans will develop the aromas that have made it a continuing success in the West for more than 400 years, and in the Muslim world long before that.
But roasting, in the process of heating, also destroys many of the primary compounds of coffee, reducing their caffeine content, but also certain molecular chains whose beneficial effects on health, seen in other types of food, are known.
Green coffee is therefore the coffee before roasting. Its taste would be much too strong. There are various ways of accommodating it, although the simplest seems to be to absorb it in capsule form.

Composition of green coffee beans and benefits
Green coffee contains 50% carbohydrates, followed by fat (more or less 15%) and protein, about 12%. Caffeine is of course also present in green coffee, which is what gives it its invigorating attributes.
Green coffee also contains antioxidants (chlorogenic acids) with protective effects. But the main reason to consume green coffee is its high content of cafestol and kahweol.
These two substances disappear during roasting. You will have understood that green coffee is a healthy and beneficial version of traditional coffee!
Green coffee beans are coffee beans that have not yet been roasted. The coffee bean roasting process reduces the amount of chlorogenic acid, therefore green coffee beans have a higher level of chlorogenic acid than roasted coffee beans. Chlorogenic acid in green coffee is often referred to in natural medicine to have some health benefits, mainly for heart disease, diabetes, weight loss, and others.
Are green coffee bean extract safe
Green coffee is a natural health ingredient full of benefits. However, it should not be consumed excessively. We recommend that you drink a maximum of 4 cups a day. If consumed in excess, coffee can affect heart rate and nervousness.
Due to its stimulating properties, do not drink it at the end of the day, as you may have difficulty falling asleep.
Pregnant and breastfeeding women can consume it but only in small doses (1 cup maximum per day). Like any other coffee, it is not suitable for children.
The chlorogenic acid contained in green coffee beans changes the way glucose is absorbed into the human body and reduces the level of glucose in the blood. The body uses glucose for energy, and by reducing the amount of glucose, the body is eventually forced to burn cells.
fat in a process called thermogenesis, thus contributing to weight loss, slimming.
The high level of antioxidants in green coffee also helps to fight against toxins and free radicals, which has the property of slowing down the aging process.
Is green coffee beans good for health
Does green coffee bean extract have caffeine
The studies have shown that caffeine can stimulate the metabolism by up to 3-11%.
The main active ingredient is chlorogenic acid. Some studies suggest that it may reduce the absorption of carbohydrates from the digestive tract, which can lower blood glucose and insulin levels.
If this is true, consuming green coffee bean extract would be comparable to having a slightly lower carbohydrate diet.
Other studies (in mice and rats) have shown that chlorogenic acid can reduce body weight, reduce fat absorbed from the diet, reduce fat stored in the liver and improve the function of the fat-burning hormone, adiponectin.
Chlorogenic acid has also been shown to significantly improve cholesterol and triglyceride levels in rats. These are important risk factors for heart disease.
There are studies on green coffee bean extract, these studies are called randomized controlled trials: they are the absolute reference for scientific experiments on humans.
One of them involved 30 overweight people and lasted 12 weeks.
There were two groups | one group of regular instant coffee drinkers, and another group of instant coffee drinkers with 200 mg of green coffee bean extract.
Neither group changed their diet or exercise habits.
The group consuming instant coffee fortified with green coffee bean extract lost 5.4 kg, while the group consuming regular instant coffee lost only 1.7 kg.
The percentage of body fat also decreased by 3.6% in the green coffee bean extract group compared to 0.7% in the other group.
Does green coffee make you lose weight?
scientific study opinions show that daily consumption of green coffee powder provides various benefits for the body by acting on several fronts.
Lipid metabolism: green coffee is rich in methylxanthines, substances to which caffeine also belongs, which have a lipolytic effect (reduced fat absorption).
Despite having such a property, using the green coffee bean to lose weight quickly and well will only partially help.
There is no miracle substance capable of making you lose weight easily (losing weight in a week doesn’t exist) – remember that!
On the other hand, in the context of an appropriate diet, combined with exercises such as running, walking, or swimming, it can be a good adjuvant.
Blood sugar level: The properties of green coffee can act in two ways on blood sugar control.
1) green coffee can reduce the formation of glucose from glycogen in the liver and this thanks to the involvement of chlorogenic acid, scientific studies are still ongoing because this compound, which is found in good concentration in green coffee, could have positive effects on obesity-related co-morbidities by reducing insulin resistance and the increase of fat in the liver.
2) Green coffee would also have the ability to act on the intestinal mucosa and reduce the proportion of sugar absorbed.
This is excellent news for keeping the blood sugar levels of people with diabetes under control.
Are green coffee beans safe for weight loss
As we said, green coffee contains a large amount of caffeine. This alkaloid is known for its stimulating properties. In concrete terms, consuming coffee half an hour after ingestion and for a few hours (4 to 6 on average) will accelerate your metabolism and thus consume calories, drawing them if necessary from your fat reserves.
But above all, for reasons that are still poorly known but which have been observed in laboratories, green coffee can combat steatosis of the liver, a serious and chronic disease that is developing at a rapid rate throughout the western world due to excessive sugar consumption. Sugars of all kinds are used on a massive scale by the food industry to improve the taste but also the shelf life of processed products.
For example, sugar is found in canned food, vacuum-packed ham, and aperitif cakes, and can easily be consumed more than is necessary without even noticing it, even when eating salty food. However, in excess, the sugar turns into fat in the form of triglycerides which not only make you fat but also wear out and damage your liver.
Every year there are millions of cases (an estimated six million in France alone) of people suffering from hepatic steatosis, which is nothing less than cirrhosis that can be triggered even when you don’t drink a drop of alcohol. In Europe and the United States, it is known as soda disease.
Green coffee cannot be consumed as a remedy for this disease once it has been triggered, but it can prevent it. Moreover, this disease, and the excessive consumption of sugar, is also the cause of many cases of diabetes, which can also be prevented by drinking green coffee.
Moreover, even when not roasted, coffee remains a light diuretic, a property that can be appreciated as part of a slimming diet.
Beware, green coffee is not a medicine. If you consume too much sugar, don’t expect a dietary supplement to miraculously protect you from the negative consequences of your unbalanced diet. It will only be truly effective if it accompanies a healthy lifestyle.
On the other hand, it can indeed help accelerate the weight loss that inevitably occurs when you decide to change your consumption and lifestyle. By ingesting less sugar, therefore, but also by regular physical activity.
Our opinion on green coffee beans
Green coffee is an excellent product to accompany and reinforce weight loss. Taken in cure in the form of a capsule, it will allow you to engage serenely and strengthen your will in a determined slimming diet.
Its negligible side effects, its stimulating and anti-inflammatory virtues, make it an ideal companion for this type of approach. You can expect to lose 2 to 3 extra kilos per month compared to a simple unaccompanied diet, which greatly increases motivation and improves your self-image during periods that can sometimes prove to be more difficult than expected.
Does green coffee really help you lose weight? It is said that green coffee is a booster for the body. This means that it stimulates the body and therefore burns more calories than the average person. But the key substance in green coffee, the one that is said to be the cause of all miracles, is chlorogenic acid.
